Pratyusha’s entry into the national athletic scene was marked by her participation in the National Youth Athletics Championships in 2019. Competing in the medley relay in the under-18 category, she secured a silver medal, a testament to her potential and promise as a budding athlete.

Dominance in Junior Competitions

Pratyusha continued to build on her early success, making a significant mark in junior competitions. At the 33rd South Zone Junior Athletics Championships held in Guntur in September 2022, she showcased her versatility by competing in multiple events. She won a silver medal in the 100m, a gold medal in the long jump with a leap of 5.79 metres, and another gold as part of the 4x100m relay team. The 3rd National U23 Open Athletics Championships held in Chandigarh in October 2023 saw Pratyusha at her best. Competing in the under-23 women’s category, she secured a silver medal in the 100m with a time of 11.82 seconds and a gold medal in the 200m, clocking 24.17 seconds. These achievements not only highlight her consistent performance but also her ability to compete and win against older and more experienced athletes.

Pratyusha’s talent has also been recognised on the international stage. At the World University Games in China in July–August 2023, she represented India in the 200m and the 4x100m relay events. Although she did not secure a podium finish, her participation itself was a significant achievement, providing her with valuable experience and exposure to compete against some of the best athletes from around the world.

One of Pratyusha’s most significant achievements came at the 37th National Games held in Goa from October 29 to November 3, 2023. Competing in the women’s category, she participated in the 100-metre heats and secured a third-place finish. However, it was in the relay events that she truly shone, winning gold in both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays with times of 45.61 seconds and 3:37.94, respectively. These victories were pivotal in establishing her as a key athlete in India’s national athletic scene.
